Arts on Broadway is pleased to announce the beginning of its second season. For the autumn concert Arts on Broadway will proudly host the Canadian Brass in concert, Friday, November 9, 2012. The concert will be held at First United Methodist Church, 330 N. Broadway, Wichita, Kansas at 7:30 pm.
Canadian Brass has had a magical career spanning over 40 years. Led by founding member, Chuck Daellenbach, the group is poised for many more years of success. With a vast repertoire from Baroque masters to marches, holiday favorites to Dixieland, and jazz to Broadway, Canadian Brass has created their own musical world by transcribing, arranging and commissioning more than 200 works.
The performances of Canadian Brass always provide an exciting combination of brass virtuosity and comic entertainment. All audiences come away enlightened and enriched. Throughout the ensemble’s long history they have been proud ambassadors of music education making appearances at education conventions, music stores and schools.
During their visit to Wichita, Canadian Brass will be conducting a master class for brass students, sponsored by Arts on Broadway and WSU Fine Arts Department. This will provide an opportunity to share their extensive knowledge and experience to improve the performance capabilities of young local musicians. The class will be held at 3:30pm on November 9 at WSU Duerksen Fine Arts Center, for students who would like to attend.
